Introducing Tabitha Witherick, Service Delivery ManagerPosted on 29 Aug 2017
Tabitha Witherick has recently joined Libraries Unlimited as Service Delivery Manager for Torridge, North, Mid and East Devon. Tabitha has worked in libraries for 17 years, most recently in Somerset Libraries as Service Manager – Development and North Somerset as Lead Librarian.
She will be working with library teams across the county enabling front-line staff to deliver the best possible library service to local communities. She is passionate about collaborating with colleagues and communities to continually find new ways to engage and inspire people through the library offer.
Tabitha has been involved in a number of innovative and high-profile library projects, including The Glass Box project, which has received local and national recognition for its experimental approach to collaborative community working, and the delivery of Arts Council funded ‘Out of the Mouth of the Parrett’, a partnership with Theatre Melange.
Tabitha is a keen social media user and blogger and will take any opportunity to shout about the great things happening in libraries. She said: “I am really looking forward to meeting and working with all of the Libraries Unlimited team.
“Libraries Unlimited is leading the way in terms of innovation and trialling new ways of delivering and enhancing library services. I’m so excited to be a part of this journey, and to work alongside libraries and communities across Devon. I am enthusiastic about libraries and optimistic about the future, despite the challenges that services have been through and those that lie ahead.”
Tabitha lives in Taunton with her husband and two energetic children. When she’s not working, she can often be found on family adventures in different corners of the countryside or at family festivals across the south west. Originally from St.Merryn in Cornwall, Tabitha and her family often head back to the farm to spend time exploring the local area.
